EDITOR’S LETTER
The world is truly getting soon to become an on-demand economy. Information will be available to the right people at the right time, manufacturing will be based on demand predictions, resources will be allocated based on forecasts on a hyper individualized basis. Supply chains will see immense sophistication. Given the pace of change, it is quite possible that enterprises will reach a stage where there would be accurate predictions about when a new business model will need to be launched. This is already happening, albeit in a small way with companies such as Netflix, Amazon and Google constantly updating their offerings based on insights from real time data relating to customer interests and behavior.
How are enterprises approaching their strategy and readiness to these unprecedented changes? Traditional top down approaches and exhaustively deliberated decisions will soon be passé. Focus on rapid adjustments based on accurate insights into data will be the need of the hour. In a self-tuning enterprise, resource allocation and processes will be adjusted in an almost seamless way, driven by algorithms based on the underlying market dynamics.
This edition of Illuminar focuses on how the underlying intelligence of everything will change the way enterprises of the future work. This edition also features an interview with Sankarson Banerjee, CTO Projects at National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) who shares some interesting insights on how Artificial Intelligence will impact the enterprise of the future including their workforce, and how enterprises could build their AI roadmap.
