EDITOR’S LETTER
Data is currency. This has now become a literal reality with what we saw in the past few weeks with the recent ransomware threat that impact over 230k systems, in addition to the productivity loss and scare in several enterprises globally.
While digital brings with it all good things, we cannot underestimate or ignore the vulnerability risks and impact that such unfortunate incidents can have to any enterprise. It is ironical that when everything is normal, the topic of security hardly sees any executive interest. However, in any crisis of this nature, calls for sudden frenetic activity by the senior management who are very interested to get into the depth and contain the situation.
Enterprises need to build digital resilience into their processes and their technology environment should be reflective of this approach. This edition of Illuminar titled ‘Security and Digital transformation’ intends to cover the various cyber security challenges faced by enterprises and some good practices that needs to be a part of their working order.
We have interesting perspectives on this topic from Mr. Xavier S. Arputharaj, Chief Operating Officer, Orient Insurance. Orient Insurance is one of the leaders in the UAE insurance market and part of the reputed Al-Futtaim group.
We look forward to our continued dialog. Thank you for your feedback. Thanks also for your commitment to engage in conversations that benefit a larger community of professionals facing similar challenges, as each one of us looks to get better and help our organizations to successfully navigate the digital journey.
Wish you a lovely day!
Best regards,
