EDITOR’S LETTER
Alfred T Mahan once said, “Whoever rules the waves, rules the world”. In the world of today, whoever rules information, rules the world. In an era where big data, cloud, internet of things and analytics are enabling processing vast amounts of information, what is perhaps going to most compelling and non-negotiable is information privacy and security.
For any company doing business in Europe or with European companies, there is a mad scramble for compliance and security with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming into effect on May 25th, 2018. The potential penalties are significant – enterprises may be fined up-to 4% of the annual revenue or 20 million Euro whichever is greater.
This edition focuses on GDPR and how enterprises could tackle some of the requirements via Information Management discipline. This edition carries an article from Andrew Soon, Regional Sales Director, Asia from Nuance Document Imaging (NDI). Andrew shares interesting insights on how capture and workflow solutions could address GDPR requirements.
